What is the difference between prawns and shrimps?

The names "shrimp" and "prawn" are often used interchangeably as it is considered identical in cooking. Shrimps and prawns also do have a lot of features in common as well. However, biologically speaking they are in actual fact different species.

SHRIMPS - Have claws on three of their five pairs of legs, forking gills and a side plate that overlays segments in front and behind. They carry their eggs outside of their bodies beneath their tails.

PRAWNS - Have lamellar gills and side plates that overlap tile-like from front to back. They carry their eggs inside their bodies near their tails.

The different varieties of shrimp and prawns also do vary in taste and texture, and is mostly chosen on individual’s personal preferences.

What is Chicken Parmigiana?

Chicken Parmigiana which is also referred to as “Chicken Parm”, is a chicken dish that is based on an Italian Parmigiana. The dish consists basically of a breaded chicken breast or schnitzel that is covered with a tomato based Neapolitan sauce and cheese.
